Make Chaos Ltd (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller for information collected through www.make-chaos.com.
What we collect
When you order, ask for a quote or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, delivery details, the details of your order, any notes you add, and any artwork files you upload. Our servers also record basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To prepare quotes and proofs, make and deliver your order, and talk to you about it (performance of a contract).
- To keep records for accounting and tax (legal obligation).
- To run, secure and improve our website and services (legitimate interests).
- To send marketing, only if you've opted in, which you can withdraw at any time (consent).
We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
Only with trusted providers that help us run the business, under contracts that require them to keep it secure:
- Website hosting (Vercel)
- Our order database and file storage (Supabase, servers in London)
- Order emails (Postmark)
- Card payments (Stripe). We never see or store your full card details.
- Couriers such as Royal Mail when we deliver your order
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards required by UK GDPR are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order and meet legal, accounting and tax requirements (usually six years). Artwork files are kept so you can reorder easily; ask us and we'll delete them.
Cookies
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies it sets are strictly necessary for it to work.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent to marketing, and ask for a copy to move to another provider. Email us to use any of these rights.
