How we print
Right method.
Every time.
Every product and design suits a different technique. Here's what each one is, what it's best for and what artwork works. Not sure? Pick the closest one when you order and we'll advise when we check your artwork.
Full colour, any quantity
DTF
Direct to film: full-colour transfers pressed onto the garment.
Your design is printed onto a special film with a fine powder adhesive, then heat-pressed onto the product. It gives photo-quality detail, gradients and bright colours on almost any fabric or colour, with a soft, flexible finish.
Artwork: Any artwork, including photos and gradients. High-resolution PNG or vector files work best.

- ✓ Full-colour logos and photos
- ✓ Dark and light garments
- ✓ Small runs and one-offs
- ✓ Cotton, polyester and blends
Detailed one-offs on cotton
DTG
Direct to garment: printed straight into the cotton, like an inkjet for clothes.
Ink is printed straight into the fabric, so there's nothing to feel on top. Perfect for detailed, colourful artwork on cotton garments, and cost-effective for small quantities.
Artwork: Any artwork, including photos. Best on cotton; very fine lines on dark garments can soften slightly.

- ✓ Detailed, colourful artwork
- ✓ 100% cotton garments
- ✓ Soft, breathable prints
- ✓ One-offs and small runs
Premium logos & workwear
Embroidery
Your logo stitched in thread: premium and built to last.
Your design is turned into a stitch file (digitised) and sewn with thread. It looks premium, feels textured and outlasts any print, which makes it the go-to for caps, beanies, polos, hoodies and workwear.
Artwork: Simple artwork with flat colours, like a logo. No gradients or photos, and very small text may be simplified.

- ✓ Caps, beanies and hoodies
- ✓ Uniforms and workwear
- ✓ A premium, long-lasting finish
Names, numbers & bold logos
Vinyl
Cut from coloured vinyl and heat-pressed: crisp, bold and solid.
Your design is cut from sheets of coloured vinyl and heat-pressed onto the product. The result is crisp, bold and very durable, and speciality vinyls like gold, silver, reflective, neon and glitter make it stand out.
Artwork: Flat, single-colour artwork only, with no gradients or photos.

- ✓ Names and numbers on team kit
- ✓ Bold one-colour logos
- ✓ Reflective and metallic effects
- ✓ Personalised gifts
Mugs, bottles, socks & hard goods
Sublimation
Ink turned to gas and fused into the surface: edge-to-edge colour that won't peel.
Ink is heated until it becomes a gas and bonds into specially coated surfaces and polyester. Nothing sits on top, so it can't crack or peel, and it can cover a product edge to edge, like the full wrap on a mug.
Artwork: Any artwork, including photos. Colours print brightest on white or light products.

- ✓ Mugs and water bottles
- ✓ Keyrings, coasters and clack fans
- ✓ All-over socks
- ✓ Photos and full-colour designs
Metal bottles & premium gifts
Laser engraving
A laser etches your design into the surface for a permanent, premium mark.
A precise laser removes the surface coating or etches into the material, leaving a clean, permanent design that will never fade or wash off.
Artwork: Single-colour line art or logos. Photos and gradients don't engrave well.

- ✓ Metal water bottles
- ✓ Names and logos
- ✓ Premium, understated gifts
- ✓ Corporate gifts

Screen printing
Ink pushed through a mesh screen, one colour at a time: bold and great value in bulk.
A screen is made for each colour of your design and ink is pushed through it onto the garment. The set-up takes time, so it's best value on larger quantities, with bold, long-lasting colour.
Artwork: Artwork with a limited number of flat colours. Ask us for a quote.
